Long-eared Owl

Had a phone call from Alan this evening shortly after I got home from work to say that the Long-eared Owl was showing well at Clegg Hall.  I'd missed the chance a couple of days previously when he'd called but I'd missed his call. 

I dashed to the site and arrived just over the railway bridge where Alan was watching the bird perched on a fence post in the field. It performed really well in warm, calm conditions and I watched it for about half an hour or more as it gradually moved from post to post, and eventually moving away across the fields.  Martin Baker appeared at one point, cycling home from the chippy, and he was able to see the bird too.
