Female Common Scoter, Greylag Goose

Simon reported a female Common Scoter this morning from the lake.  When I arrived the water was calm, and the Scoter was out in the middle, asleep.  I took a few distant typically 'specks of dust' photos and carried on with my usual walk.  Near the reserve was a Greylag Goose, feeding with the Canadas, so I snapped a few pics of that, with all the rubbish in the background visible after the water level has dropped, and carried on with my walk.

As I reached the long wall overlooking Bib Knowl Valley, the female Scoter was a little closer in and gradually it came closer until I was able to get some nice photos, though it did spend a lot of time asleep with its head tucked in, so it was a bit of a mad rush to get some pics with its head up!
