Lesser Yellowlegs, Marsh Harriers, Little Egrets, Pink-footed Geese, Ruff, Black & Bar-tailed Godwits
Had a last-minute impromptu dash to Southport with Stu this afternoon for a few hours. On arrival, it was rather dull with the odd shower, but the Lesser Yellowlegs was the closest bird visible on the marsh looking seawards from the sewage plant footpath. Also here were Ruff, Black-tailed Godwits, the odd Ruff and a good number of other waders and wildfowl - lots of Wigeon and Pinkfeet for example.
Offshore, a couple of distant Marsh Harriers were quartering the marsh, and there were lots of Little Egrets around. More Ruff were visible from the hide, but no sign of the reported Scaup.
