Redstart, Lesser Whitethroat, Treecreeper, Grey Heron, Roe Deer
A dull day today, poor for photography, but a bit of migrant activity. A Grey Heron was fishing in front of the hide, and despite the overcast conditions, managed to get a sequence of it catching a fish with the HFR function on the camera.
In Pavilion Wood, a Treecreeper showed well but was hard to snap.
Walking up towards Turnough Farm I met Andrew, who'd been watching a Redstart in the dell. As we stood and watched, two Redstarts showed themselves, as well as a Lesser Whitethroat, but conditions were rubbish for snapping anything.
I found a dragonfly resting on the path a little further up. I don't know much about dragonflies, but I assume it's a Common Darter. I went looking for a Spotted Flycatcher at Shaw Moss, with no luck, but did spot a Roe Deer passing through the glade.
(with apologies for the photo quality....)
