Redwings, Goldcrest
Sunday had produced huge numbers of migrating Redwings on the east coast (along with a few Ring Ouzels, Bramblings and other birds), and this morning as I looked out of the patio windows, I saw two separate parties of Redwing heading generally south over the back garden.
A walk around the lake produced several more groups of Redwing overhead, probably a total of 150-200 birds including those over the garden (but nothing like the many thousands on the coast!). Also, a Goldcrest was in one of the Willows by the lakeside on Rakewood Road.
