Chiffchaff, Redpoll, Coal Tit, Greylag Goose, Goldeneye.
A nice relatively calm sunny morning (frost overnight), but remarkably little bird activity. Trying out the new camera again; a Woodpigeon sat on the wires near the willows, but nothing from the hide. A few Rabbits were about, and the Goldeneye was out on open water, but too far for photos. As I walked past the wood, a pair of Great Crested Grebes were relatively close in near the Sea Cadet hut, but began to swim away when they saw me.
Further round, a nice Coal Tit fed by the path, near the track to Peanock Farm, but was very active and hard to pin down.
At lunchtime, I saw a Pied Wagtail by the overflow, then went up to Syke Farm, which was a mistake as there was virtually nothing to see. I did hear a Goldcrest singing (unusual for me) near the spot where I had one a few weeks ago, and a male Redpoll sat in the top of a tree briefly, but that was about it.
