7 Tufted Ducks, 1 m. Goosander
Slight frost, 1°C. Fairly bright in morning, overcast in afternoon. 7 Tufted Ducks (5 males) were new in overnight, feeding just off the pavilion spit. Very little else of note, though a drake Goosander flew NE overhead on Rakewood Road.
A brief visit at lunchtime in the car didn't produce anything different; the Tufteds were still present, between the road and the reserve, and a flock of gulls in the field behind the small roadside pool contained at least 87 Common Gulls, with fewer Black-headeds and just a handful of Lesser Black-backs.
