Partial albino Carrion Crow, Cormorants, Snipe
Back to dull conditions again today, overcast with drizzle. As I walked along Rakewood Road, I noticed the Carrion Crow with white wing-flashes; I've seen this a few times but never managed to capture it on film, but it landed just on the marshy area not far from the road. Unfortunately as I lifted the camera it flew and I didn't have the right settings, so missed the opportunity really, and only captured a blurred shot as it disappeared into the channel.
A Grey Heron fed in the channel to the left of the hide; I waited a while to see if it would catch anything, but it didn't, and then when I'd left, I looked again through the trees and saw it swallowing a large fish!
A total of 19 Cormorants were on the mudflats off the reserve, maybe the best count this autumn so far.
