7 Bullfinch, Sparrowhawk
Clear skies this morning, 2°C. Little to report other than a few Redwings flushed from leaf litter in the pavilion wood, and 7 Bullfinches feeding on Hawthorn buds by the track. On the lunchtime visit, the skies were still clear, and as I was standing on the track behind the wood, a female Sparrowhawk flew towards me from the reserve end of the track and perched on a tree in sunshine about five or ten yards away. It would have made a great photo but unfortunately flew off as I made movement towards my camera. Four or five Bullfinches were still feeding in bushes by the path, but further round the reserve, attracting a little audience as I tried to photograph them.
When I returned home at lunchtime I took a few Tree Sparrow photos, but they were in shade and high ISO.
