Sooty Shearwater, Arctic Skua, Black Tern, Purple Sandpiper, Little Stint, Spotted Crake

Went on the Bridlington "Pelagic" with Simon Hitchen, Alan Nuttall, Steve Atkins.  Weather was relatively calm, but consequently not many seabirds about.  We did have a couple of distant Arctic Skuas and a few auks.  Plenty of Shags, and one juv. Black Tern.  Best bird of the boat trip however was a single Sooty Shearwater that flew close into the boat and then circled us before flying off again. Great views including silvery underwings.

After disembarking we had a quick look at Bridlington where we had some close views of a few Purple Sandpipers just over the sea wall, along with Turnstones.

The RBA app reported a Pec Sand at Flamborough, on Thorncliffe Pool, but when we got there it had not long since flown off.  However we did have nice views of a Little Stint just in front of the hide and a few other waders including Ringed Plover and Dunlin, though not much else here.

We then decided to go to North Cave Wetlands, where we managed to get prolonged views of the Spotted Crake, although it was always against the light, so a little frustrating to try to video.  Best views (certainly longest) I've ever had though!  Other good birds here were plenty of Gadwall, a Little Egret, several Yellow Wagtails, a few Greenshank and many other marshland species.  Simon and Steve also had Green Sandpiper and Whinchat, but I was busy elsewhere at the time.
