2 Redshank, Goldeneye

Raining this morning, but ventured out anyway, and glad I did - two Redshank were on the reserve, first for the year and species no. 73.  I first saw them from the path near small stone bridge and they appeared to land on what's still visible of the island; just a few stones.  When I got to the hide, there was no sign of them, but as I sat I could hear one calling.  Then they both flew up from the long grass to the right hand side of the hide, and had been fairly close all along, but out of view.

Not much else to report except the resident Goldeneye, and a few Teal on the reserve. No photos today.
