2 Treecreepers, 10 Goosander, 1f/imm Goldeneye
1°C, Clear & Sunny, becoming cloudy later. Walked around anti-clockwise, and didn't see much until the Scout hut, where the f/imm Goldeneye was just off the jetty. In Pavilion Wood, a couple of Redwings were moving around but elusive, then I found a Treecreeper at the far end. As I watched it, I realised there were two together, creeping up separate trunks of the same tree.
From the hide, a first-cycle Herring Gull was giving an old Tennis ball a hard time; I suspect it thought it had some nutritional value. It was pecking away at it for quite a while, taking chunks of the yellow fluffy outer away, and then looking disappointed! A couple of drake Teal were at the back, and two drake Tufted Ducks on the far side.
It was quite good in the garden, with the two Tree Sparrows, a Reed Bunting, a pair of Bullfinch, lots of Goldfinch, and a pair of Greenfinch, among others.
