Common Sandpiper, Oystercatcher, Hirundines, Reed Bunting
Overcast this morning, with light rain; it felt good for some passage terns, but there was nothing doing from that angle. I sat in the hide for a while, where a Grey Heron was right in front. While I was watching the heron, I noticed a movement behind it and realised there was a Common Sandpiper on the spit. It fed for a few minutes, working its way left to right. Meanwhile, an Oystercatcher flew in and landed on the right hand end of the spit, only to be confronted with a Lapwing which hassled it for a while.
Nothing of note at lunchtime; I went to Shaw Moss, but everywhere was very quiet.
