Bank Vole

Not a bird, but a mammal was today's highlight!  Joanne and I went for a walk mid-morning as the weather was looking a little brighter.  There were quite a few people around and we didn't really see much in the way of birds, but just beyond the hide I suddenly spotted a rodent running along the edge of the path towards us.  We stopped and it continued for a little bit further, then stopped, rubbed its front feet together and then disappeared into the undergrowth.  I only had a few seconds to react but just managed to get focused on the head before it ran off.

A little investigation later revealed it to be a Bank Vole (based on the size of the ears).
