2 Goldeneye, 4 Goosander, 4 Gadwall, Tufted Duck
A quick look this morning didn't reveal anything too exciting, but I was pressed for time. Yesterday's snow was still on the ground making it slippery underfoot.
Had a walk round anticlockwise at lunch, and the first things I came across were two drake Goldeneyes, fairly close in just past Peanock Farm, along with a drake Tufted Duck. Further around near the Sea Cadets hut, a group of 4 Gadwall were present (two pairs), though by this time the mizzle had begun to descend and the light was terrible. A party of Long-tailed Tits flew into the bushes on the old jetty nearby, and when I got to the reserve, most of it was frozen, with just a small patch of open water carrying a dozen or so Teal.
Along Rakewood Road there were two separate pairs of Goosander, but again the light was exceedingly dull and by this time I was getting a little damp. At least three Coot were close to the Rowing Club car park.
