Oystercatcher, Goosanders, f/imm Goldeneye

11°C, strong gusty (W) winds, then slightly calmer with rain.Slightly more leisurely walk today, but really strong winds so predictably small birds were laying low.  The first Oystercatcher of the year was on the Rowing Club jetty with Black-headed Gulls, and a few Goosander scattered about, riding the surf.  On the reserve, just 3 Teal, but nothing else of note.  The f/imm. Goosander was present in the SW corner, but by this time it had begun to rain.

On closer inspection of the photos, the Oystercatcher seems to have some kind of dark ring material around its left angle.  Not really sure what this is.
