2 Common Terns, Redshank, 2 Little Egrets, several Gadwall

I was up early and at the Lake for 6:30 this morning, in rather bright but hazy sunshine.  Scanning the water from the car park I picked up two Common Terns, my first of the year; they appeared to be juveniles, but were quite distant and hard to pick out let alone photograph, facing into the early morning sun.  I thought I'd walk around and maybe get a better viewpoint with the sun behind, but by the time I reached the other side they seemed to have moved on.  A Redshank called and flew from the direction of the reserve, also a first for the year.

There were two Little Egrets on the reserve, and several Gadwall, but it was difficult to get an accurate count of the latter; they were interspersed with Mallard, quite distantly, and mostly asleep.  A Roe Deer trotted across the top of the field behind the hide
