Whooper Swan, Mediterranean Gull

A calm but slightly overcast morning today. As I walked along Rakewood Road, a swan was swimming close to the road, and as I got closer it proved to be a Whooper Swan, showing really well.  The water was dead still and the Whooper just swam around in close proximity allowing for some great photo opportunities; certainly the best photos I've ever taken.

Not too much else to report until I reached the Rowing Club, and I was slightly surprised to see the Med Gull perched on the jetty with other gulls.  It's not much more than a week since I last saw it but in that time it's developed its summer plumage and now almost has a full black hood.
