Whitethroats, Sedge Warbler, Tawny Owl
Had a good walk around the Lake and down to Clegg Hall this morning in pleasant conditions. A Goldfinch performed quite well in the bushes by the side of Rakewood Road, and two Jays were perched in the Big Hedge, though one flew off before I could get a photo.
Along Branch Road, a Sedge Warbler was singing, and although I saw it a couple of times I couldn't get it on film, but I didn't want to over disturb it so I moved on. Near the railway at Clegg Hall, two Whitethroats were singing, one perching up and showing well, although always fairly distant. The Tawny Owl was resident in its hole in the gable end of the house down towards Dyehouse Lane.
