White-breasted Nuthatch, Mountain Bluebird, Pygmy Nuthatch, Turkey Vulture, Red-tailed Hawk

This morning Sandra took me for a clamber up Pincushion Mountain, behind the road in Peachland.  We took our bear spray with us but didn't meet any bears!  It was relatively quiet in terms of birds, though I did manage to get my first proper White-breasted Nuthatches.  At the very top, we disturbed a couple of birds one of which perched up briefly against the sun; I wasn't sure what they were at first, and intended to get closer to have a proper look but they had disappeared.  After reviewing my photos, it was obvious they were Mountain Bluebirds - my only ones of the trip.  Supporting species were Red-tailed Hawk, Turkey Vulture and around 6 or so Ravens.  A couple of Yellow-rumped Warblers were in the trees near the top and the ubiquitous Flickers were in attendance.

In the afternoon we went on a wine tour around Naramata, on the other side of Lake Okanagan. I had 2 Steller's Jays and we also came across a perched adult Bald Eagle, and a Cooper's Hawk was also seen.
