Water Rail, 2 Tufted Duck
I saw the Water Rail again this morning, in almost exactly the same spot, except it wasn't in the actual stream, but on the bank feeding amongst the leaf litter. I took some distant photos but couldn't get into a position where it was fully in view for a clear shot, and it was so dull the camera was struggling to focus. However, I managed a couple of record shots again. One or two people started to appear and were asking me what I was looking at, peering into the undergrowth, and the added disturbance caused it to disappear unfortunately.
A couple of drake Tufted Ducks were on the open water, which I hadn't seen earlier; not sure if they'd just flown in, or I'd missed them.
