Rooks, Stock Dove, Greylag Goose, Reed Bunting

Started out early this morning, as Steve had seen 13 Whoopers seemingly heading for Hollingworth Lake yesterday at dusk, and I wanted to see if they were present before any rowers got on the water. Sadly there was no sign. About 80 Jackdaws left their roost noisily from the Sycamores on the lake front however. Soon after, 4 Rooks flew over; early morning seems to be the best time to catch these birds.

I had a decent selection of species - 39 in all, but nothing outstanding. The best of the rest were a Greylag Goose I heard calling when I was in the hide, and noticed it flying around. It did land briefly but then flew off again. And a Reed Bunting in the bushes at the end of Bib Knowl dam wall.
