Whooper Swans, Goldeneye, Tufted Duck, Goosander
An interesting selection of wildfowl this morning, in the bright sunshine. When I arrived I could see two Whooper Swans distantly against the sun, mid-water, as well as what appeard to be two Goldeneye. As I walked around the far side to get the sun behind, a pair of Tufted Duck were just offshore beyond the reserve, and subsequently I managed to get better views of the Whoopers and the Goldeneye, along with several Goosander.
The light was very harsh, so not ideal for photography, although there wasn't the usual problem with high ISO or slow shutter speed! At one point the Whoopers flew around, and were joined by a juv Mute Swan, and they appeared to fly off in the direction of Blackstone Edge, but a little while later they'd reappeared on the lake, despite there being quite a number of rowing boats about.
