Mediterranean Gull in full summer plumage showing well on the jetty at Hollingworth Lake

A walk round this morning was rather monotonous, with nothing out of the ordinary to report. However, on the last leg of my journey as I returned to the car park area, I noticed a few gulls perched on the roof of the Rowing Club building, and one of them was the Mediterranean Gull, now apparently in full summer plumage. I went around the back of the building to try to get a better viewpoint, but by that time the birds had moved off the roof; luckily the Med Gull had dropped onto the Jetty and showed rather well. It still has a gap in its left wing, an additional handy feature helping to pick it out in flight amongst a group of gulls.
