Song Sparrows, White-crowned Sparrow, Killdeers, Red-winged Blackbirds, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Steller's Jay, Pygmy Nuthatch, Red-tailed Hawks

Decided to have one more bash at Kalamoir Park for the Great Horned Owls, but again no luck. Called on the way through at Power's Creek where there were 2 Song Sparrows, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, 1 Common Loon, 1 Glaucous-winged Gull, 8 Killdeer, 6 or 7 Common Merganser, about 60 American Coot and one Horned Grebe.

Pulled over on Boucherie Road again to scan over the fields and lake environs, and spotted a Red-winged Blackbird, fairly distantly, perched up in the reeds at the water's edge.  On closer inspection there turned out to be three of these.  Also here a Sharp-shinned Hawk, and before reaching Kalamoir Park, a Steller's Jay in the housing area.

Kalamoir Park was a little disappointing - 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, c.8 Northern Flickers, several Yellow-rumped Warblers, about 5 Black-billed Magpie, and c. 10 Pygmy Nuthatches, but very few photo opportunities.  Heading towards Shannon Lake, several more Yellow-rumped Warblers were by the roadside, and also a Merlin.  At Shannon, things were very quiet (apart from a group of workmen with a chainsaw), but I was late, so decided to cut my losses and head back.

In the afternoon, a trip through Kelowna allowed views of 2 Red-tailed Hawks from the car.
