8 Whooper Swans, Kingfisher, Redwings
Overcast, grey, but mild and calm. 10°C. As I walked to the front of the lake this morning at 08:20 I could see 8 Whoopers on the water near the overflow; I walked around hoping to get some good photos, but they slowly moved off towards mid water. They seemed to have flown off by 09:15, when I reached the far side, though I didn't see them depart. A Kingfisher flew along the rocky shore and landed a few times on the stones along Rakewood Rd before flying off low over the water towards the reserve. Behind the hide, a party of c.15 Redwings landed in a tree and then were coming down at the top of the field.
