24 Whooper Swans, Goosander

A message from Andrew on the WhatsApp group this morning about 24 Whooper Swans at the lake.  It was barely light but I jumped in the car at about 08:20 and drove round to the front, though I couldn't see any swans.  However as I got out I noticed they were flying around and I just managed to snap a few grainy flight shots in the murk before they disappeared in the general direction of Blackstone Edge.

It seems they found their way to Chelburn, as Alan saw them there at about 9:30am.

A quick look at the lake in the early afternoon revealed a female Goosander off Rakewood Road.
