Goosanders, Wren, Long-tailedTit, Redwings

A lovely calm and sunny morning today.  As I walked past the overflow, a pair of Goosanders came in relatively close, allowing a few shots in the sun, but always difficult to expose for.  On the nature reserve, a Wren sat up nearby, singing its head off, and in Pavilion wood, the usual Redwings were around, being typically elusive. The female Goldeneye was just off the reserve, and a single Tufted on the pool.

As I reached the south-west corner, another (or the same) pair of Goosander were just offshore, giving decent close views, though something about the light caused my camera to want to hunt for focus.  Snapped a few more shots anyway, and just afterwards a Long-tailed Tit sat up briefly in the sunshine.

Afternoon was much duller and quite cold, with nothing new to report.  I think there were two pairs of Goosander. One pair close into the straight wall area, then another on the reserve.
