Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Chimney Sweepers, Wren, Goldfinch

Not many interesting birds around today, but the nice warm weather continues, so it's that time of year when attention turns to butterflies and other insects.

A Wren sang by the roadside again, and a Goldfinch was feeding on thistles just to the right of the hide.  A Speckled Wood landed briefly on a Beech just near where the stream runs under the path by the Willow Patch.  On the far side of the lake, a few Chimney Sweepers were once again fluttering among the long grass but never settling.  A Red Admiral did however settle on a stone wall long enough for a lateral shot.
