Pink-footed Goose, Great Black-backed Gull, Treecreeper
Cold, Clear, -2°C
A pleasant walk around in calm clear conditions though initially things were very quiet on the bird front. As I watched a Treecreeper in the wood by the Cafe, I heard the unmistakeable call of a Pink-footed Goose and came out of the wood just in time to see a single bird dropping in by the promontory. It stayed for a little while, resting on the water in full sunshine, but appeared to have a slightly dishevelled wing. However it was nice to get close and view some detail, instead of seeing them high overhead.
Further round, about 8 or so Goosander were scattered on the water, and I then noticed a Great Black-backed Gull in mid-water among the Canada Geese and other gulls. It seemed to stick around but when I got further round I couldn't relocate it, so maybe it had moved on.
