7 Goosander, pair Goldeneye
Overcast again this morning, calm and cold: 2°C. A party of 7 redhead Goosander were on the water, off Rakewood Road, and as I got close to the reserve end, a pair of Goldeneye swam away from the road; I hadn't seen these previously so would have missed them had I just been scanning and not walking round. It was so dull my camera was hunting for focus on both of the above.
Very little else of note apart from the usual 2 GC Grebes, around 50 or so Lapwings and a single Redwing over. Didn't get chance to go at lunchtime. On the plus side, today is the shortest day, so the light should begin to improve from now on!
