Green Woodpecker, 6 Tufted Duck
Cold & Clear, c. -1°C
Bird of the day today was a Green Woodpecker. I heard it call from a tall tree by the path, close to where the Water Rail was seen recently, but couldn't see it. As I scanned the tops of the trees, the woodpecker suddenly flew out, pretty much from where I was looking, and flew across the path over towards Turnough and disappeared. A party of 6 Tufted Duck (including 4 drakes) were new in, and at least 6 Coot were present, as well as a single Great Crested Grebe and 2 Goosander. No photos today unfortunately.
