Drake Goldeneye, Rook, Redwings
Bright Sunshine this morning (close to freezing) and rather cold with a slight breeze. Not a lot to report on the clockwise route, until I reached the far end of Bib Knowl wall, where a fine drake Goldeneye was swimming and diving as usual just a bit too far away. It did seem to be getting closer but then seemed to get spooked by a gull and flew further away. Decided to try again at lunchtime.
Went round anticlockwise at lunchtime but no sign of the Goldeneye. A Rook flew over from Bib Knowl valley towards Pavilion wood, the second I've had locally in a few days, though I didn't manage to get a photo. I walked through the wood and a few Redwings were feeding on the ground and flying up as I walked. On the reserve, little to report except one or two more Redwings feeding furtively at the water's edge close to the path.
These images are all videograbs, so the ISO is recorded as 100, and of course the shutter speed is rather low.
