Long-tailed Tits, Goosander
A pleasant walk this morning in bright sunshine, calm weather 2°C. A Black-headed Gull was on the frosty boom again posing for photos, though this was in shade, so a bit grainy. A decent party of Long-tailed Tits fed for a short while by the path, allowing me to get close enough for some reasonable photos, but again, this was in shade at that time, so ISO quite high and hence grainy. The second shot below was against the light, so underexposed, and bringing out the shadows has also produced more grain. I've only included it because it's focused on the eye and also there are some water droplets on the bird's plumage and the spider's web.
On the reserve, 3 Goosander were on the water, but too distant; I sat in the hide for a while hoping they'd come closer, but no joy. Pavilion Wood held a few Redwings and 3 Song Thrushes, but there were too many people about to consider approaching them.
