Grey Heron, Sand Martins, Small Heath, Speckled Wood
As I was walking along Rakewood Road this morning, two Grey Herons flew overhead, tussling with each other; I managed to rattle off a few shots of one, but it's rather backlit and under-exposed. The sun came out shortly afterwards and although there wasn't much about in terms of birds, I found what I presume to be a Northern Marsh Orchid in bloom in the field behind the hide. A few Sand Martins were flitting over the water near the Sea Cadet Jetty, but were typically hard to capture. Walking up Turnough Lane a couple of Speckled Woods were active in some dappled shade, and just beyond the farm, a Small Heath was among the Clover in the top field. Last but not least, a White-lipped Snail (I think) was by the path at Shaw Moss.
