Butterflies, Dingy Footman
The weather's been consistently hot and sunny lately, and this morning was no exception. A good walk round didn't produce any birds of note, but on Ragwort near the pond on Rakewood Road there was a Dingy Footman.
Further round, just by the track up to Peanock Farm, where there are a couple of Buddleia bushes, there was a great selection of butterflies feeding together, including 1 Painted Lady, 1 Wall Brown, 1 Gatekeeper, 2 Comma, c.5 Red Admiral, c.12 Peacock, 2 Small Tortoiseshell, 2 Meadow Brown and several each of Small and Large White.
