4 Whooper Swans

I asked Joanne to drop me off at the lake front today so I could scan for gulls on the foreshore. No sign of the Med Gull, but as I walked along the path, four Whooper Swans flew in low overhead from Smithy Bridge direction and landed on the water. Almost as soon as they'd arrived, a juvenile Mute Swan flew from the other side of the lake to join them.

I walked around to the reserve, where they were showing quite well from the road, and when I got to the far side of the lake, they were still present, but calling. Abrubtly, they took off and flew off in the direction of Rakewood Valley, taking the Mute Swan with them. They'd stayed for just about half an hour.
