Slavonian Grebe

This morning I decided to go and try for the Slavonian Grebe that's been in Todmorden for a week or so.  I've been meaning to have a go for it but just haven't had the time.  After a bit of a false start with the directions from the BirdGuides app, I managed to pinpoint the small mill pond that is Lee Dam, and sure enough the bird was present - the only bird on a relatively small water.  At first it was on the far side, feeding and diving constantly , but inaccessible by foot, but eventually it swam closer and closer to where I was standing and eventually was close enough to get some decent views and some nice photos.
