Blackcap, Goosander, Grasshopper Warbler (heard), Reed Bunting, Willow Warbler
Blue skies and sunshine with some cloud, quite cool but less of a breeze. At last I saw a Blackcap - a male singing by the bridge showed well briefly in the brambles by the stream but not long enough to photograph. A second male was singing from the big hedge/reserve area which I didn't see.
A female Goosander was on the reserve, the first I've seen for maybe a couple of weeks. From the path just beyond the Scout Cadet Hut a Willow Warbler was singing, but by this time a breeze had got up and it kept getting its mantle feathers fluffed up in the wind. At Bib Knowl I heard the Gropper briefly and saw a male Reed Bunting but not too much else to report. Still no sign of any resident hirundines.
