We arrived at Orlando Int'l Airport on time (actually around 30 mins early), and saw an Anhinga circling over the airport from the aeroplane while taxiing . We had to get a shuttle bus to Terminal B/C for the Alamo car rental desk. En route from the bus, two Swallow-tailed Kites swooped low over some pools and gave great views. Eventually we got the car, a VW Tiguan, and once we'd figured out the Sat Nav, set off for Titusville. The weather was slightly overcast and hazy, but a pleasant 21°C. En route, without bins, the following species were seen: 4 or 5 White Ibis, 6 or 7 Boat-tailed Grackle, 2 Black-necked Stilts, Great and Snowy Egrets, around 10 each of Turkey and Black Vultures, Mourning Doves and several crows, probably Fish Crow. A couple of hawks may have been Red-shouldered or Red-tailed but were too distant or brief to be sure.
We arrived at the digs, 101 May Drive, at around 6:40pm, and once inside, looked out of the window towards the dock and Indian River. The very first bird we saw from the front window was an Osprey carrying a large fish. After meeting our charming host, Claudiene, we nipped off to the local Publix supermarket, and when we came out it was virtually dark, so there aren't any bird photos, just some phone pics of the digs.
