Ruff, Kingfisher, Snipe

As I approached the nature reserve along the road this morning, I noticed a wader out on the mud, but quite distant.  A quick scrutiny soon revealed that it was actually a Ruff, the first one here since August 2020 I think.

It remained distant for a while, then gradually moved closer until I was able to get some recognisable photos.

In the hide, I was sitting quietly when suddenly a Kingfisher landed on a post just the other side of the promontory - it was rather distant and in shadow because of the glaring sun, so not ideal, but the first one I've managed to capture with the new camera setup.

In the evening Joanne and I had a walk around; the Ruff was nowhere to be seen, and the only other thing of note was a Snipe which flew round just over the wall at the top of Bib Knowl.
