Kingfisher, Cormorants, Herring (not Caspian) Gull

Went for a walk early afternoon in some reasonable sunshine, and from the hide I noticed two adult Herring-type gulls on the water at some distance; one of these looked (head-shape wise) a possibility for Caspian Gull, but after further investigation and discussion it was agreed that both birds were just Herring Gulls. This was confirmed by some distant flight shots revealing little black on the inner primaries on the upperwing, and rather extensive black on the underwing primaries.  Ah well...

To brighten things up, the Kingfisher appeared and actually perched up for a little while in the tree just opposite the hide.   There wasn't a great deal else to see, apart from some Cormorants sunning themselves on the exposed posts on the edge of the reserve.
