Siberian Accentor, Shorelark, Jack Snipe, Ring Ouzel, Brent Geese, Brambling, Little Egret, Tree Sparrows, Goldcrests

Bit of a twitch on my own from Stuart's Lodge in the Lakes.  Set off at 05:00 - 193 miles to destination.  Poor weather en route but on arriving at Easington weather was kind if a little overcast and breezy.  Parked about half a mile away from Easington but reports that the Siberian Accentor was showing well.  Arrived at the site to find remarkably few birders and was able to walk right up and see the bird which was hopping around in the compound unconcerned, with Dunnocks, and feeding away.  Often it was the closest bird and ! managed to get some footage and some shots.  An absolutely amazing bird, better than last night's photos on the app suggested. There were quite a few Goldcrests and one or two Chiffchaffs in the sheltered trees here but I didn't see a Firecrest which was around at some point.

Eventually I'd had my fill so went to Kilnsea to see what else was around.  A Shorelark was performing at close range by the Bluebell car park, so spent a little time watching this.  There had been an Olive-backed Pipit nearby but this was in long grass and showing very intermittently, so decided to have a stroll around instead.  Between the Obs and the Crown & Anchor car park  I saw several Ring Ouzels and a nice male Brambling among a fair movement of Redwings with the odd Fieldfare.  Retiring to the Canal Scrape hide, I immediately found a Jack Snipe in the area to the left, which gradually came out almost into full view, bobbing all the time.

At the Crown & Anchor there had been a Pallas's Warbler but I failed to see this, though there was a nice male Siskin, which I should have filmed in retrospect.  A Goldcrest in the gutter of the road nearby almost let me pick it up, and there was a small party of Brent Geese in close proximity just on the shoreline nearby.  A few Tree Sparrows here too, on the rocks.  All too soon I had to get back, with a 4 hour journey ahead of me, but what a splendid day.
