3 Goldeneye, 4 Goosander
For once, a bit of sunshine, at least in the early afternoon. The lake was calm as a millpond, and although there were plenty of people about, a pair of Goosander were fishing quite close to the shore in the SW corner of the lake, giving some pretty good photo opportunities. Shame I was short of time, but here's a selection of photos. The drakes are hard to get a good view of the head not in deep shade.
The usual pair of imm/f Goldeneye were present in the morning, and these were still present in the afternoon, being joined by a splendid drake, though this was a little distant. At least two pairs of Goosander were around at lunchtime, and plenty of gulls loafing on the still water.
