Kingfisher

A better morning today - cool but sunny.  Several spider's webs were glistening in the early morning sunshine on the fence adjoining Rakewood Road, and near the reserve, three Roe Deer were out on the marsh, feeding away.

At long last, I saw my first Kingfisher of the year today.  It was perched on the nearest post just in front of the hide as I entered, and although I'm usually quite wary about my approach, it saw me and first flew up into the Sycamore just opposite, and shortly afterwards flew off round the reserve pool and out of sight.  So no photos, but encouraging!
