5 Wigeon, 12 Teal, Siskin
A dull and somewhat blustery morning revealed a small raft of ducks mid-water. The light wasn't great early on but among the gloom I managed to pick out 5 Wigeon; the rest being Teal. As I walked along Rakewood Road I noticed that some of the ducks were flying, and these proved to be the Wigeon. They flew around several times and I took some flight shots but it was still quite dull, so the detail is somewhat lacking.
Around the reserve a few Siskins were about but proved typically difficult to capture on film. When I reached the opposite side of the lake, the Wigeon had gone and there was just a party of 10 Teal on the water. These occasionally flew around affording some more flight shots, and despite searching I couldn't find anything unusual amongst them!
