Gadwall, Raven, Common Sandpiper
A bit warmer today. Still cloudy though in the morning. Very little on the water but when scanning from the road I noticed a single duck on the water near the pavilion spit. On investigation this proved to be a drake Gadwall, my first for the year.
A little further on, I noticed a large bird in the air towards Rakewood. At first I thought it was a Buzzard, but it was a corvid, and turned out to be a Raven, another new one for the year. It was rather distant though, and landed on a wall. When I tried to relocate it shortly afterwards I couldn't see it.
Not much else then until I got round to Queen's Bay, when a Common Sandpiper flew out from the edge and across, settling on some rocks on the other side of the bay towards the Bib Knowl end. Three year ticks for the day!
