Wigeon, Buff-tip caterpillars, Stock Doves, Kestrel, Little Grebe
Had a good walk round this morning, with a reasonable selection of birds, though nothing ground-breaking. Three Wigeon were at Shaw Moss and I found a nest of Buff-tip caterpillars at the edge of Bib Knowl plantation. Two Stock Doves were in fields at the top end of Bib Knowl and a Kestrel performed well at the track behind the Sea Cadets hut. On the reserve, a Little Grebe on the reserve was the first I've had this year at the site. (In fact the Little Grebe was on the 11th, not the 10th).
