Green Woodpecker, 36 Teal, Grey Wagtails
A walk around this morning in squally showers revealed nothing new around the lake itself. A Grey Heron was perched on a stone wall off Rakewood Road just beyond the gate, and two Grey Wagtails flew over the road. On the reserve, I counted 36 Teal.
On the track to Turnough Farm, while scanning the fence beyond the horse paddock I noticed a Green Woodpecker perched on a fence post. It was a little distant and the light had become rather overcast, so the photos aren't very good. It dropped into the field and then I lost it, so carried on. Shortly afterwards it was on another post further along, but when I tried to walk around to view it from behind, it flew just as I was getting into a reasonable position.
