Water Rail, Little Grebe

Saw the Water Rail again this morning, in the ditch to the left of the path from the small stone bridge.  Unfortunately, didn't get any photos (anything that was recognisable anyway), even though the light was good. It's still very secretive and sticks to areas heavily covered in overhanging branches.  The Little Grebe was again present on the reserve, just along the far edge of the lagoon beyond the stony island, but soon went out of view.

In the afternoon, not much to report, but near the Wine Press I watched and photographed a Great Crested Grebe catching and eating a rather surprised-looking fish!
